Every student begins their adventure by choosing a hero class. Each class has a unique playstyle, a full set of level-based powers (levels 1–20), and a distinct avatar that evolves as they grow.
The Shield of the Realm
Guardians are the stalwart protectors of their party. They absorb punishment, shield allies from harm, and turn the tide of battle through sacrifice and sheer force of will. A great Guardian makes the whole team stronger.
Shield up to 3 of your allied Mages or Healers from harm this round, redirecting any damage they would take to yourself.
Answer a question on a teammate's behalf. If you are correct, you deal 5 additional base damage and your ally is considered correct. If you are wrong, you take their damage for them.
Convert your own life force into magical energy. For every 2 HP sacrificed, you will gain 1 MP.
Roll 1d20. On 6+, deal that much damage + your level. On 1-5, you take damage equal to your level. This damage cannot be blocked.
Select specific allied Mages to empower. For each selected Mage that successfully casts Wildfire this round, their spell's damage is doubled and you pay 15 MP. Multiple Guardians can empower the same Mage -- effects stack additively.
You enter a state of perfect focus, creating a Zen Shield around the entire party that protects them from all damage for one round. If more than 25% of your party answers incorrectly while the shield is active, the shield shatters, dealing 3d6 + your Level as bonus power damage to the boss! (Max 1 use per Guardian per battle)
Your inspiring shout fills your allies with courage, tripling the power of their attacks! (Max 2 uses per Guardian per battle)
You make the ultimate sacrifice, channeling your warrior's life force into one final, earth-shattering strike that deals Xd20 damage to the enemy (X = your level). Your HP and MP drop to zero and you cannot be revived for the duration of the current battle. All allied shields are extended by one round, the entire party gains a permanent +3 Attack bonus for the remainder of the battle (stacks with other bonuses), and your party earns a 25% bonus to all XP and Gold earned. You forfeit all personal rewards. (Max 1 use per battle, entire party)
Master of the Arcane Arts
Mages are the primary damage dealers of the party. They blast bosses with arcane fire, restore their allies' magic, and bend the rules of reality with raw intellect and magical power.
On a correct answer, deals 2d6 + your Level in damage to the boss. Damage is rolled when cast.
You call upon the leylines to recharge the arcane potential of up to two allies. Each targeted ally restores MP equal to (1d6 + your level). Targets must be at or below 75% of their max MP.
Your answer is considered correct this round. Additionally, the Oracle's insight randomly corrects the answers of one other ally who answered incorrectly, allowing their conditional powers (like Wildfire) to trigger.
Select an ally below 75% MP. Choose how many of your own MP to psychically transfer -- for every 1 MP you offer, your ally recovers 3 MP. Any amount that would exceed the target's maximum is lost. The MP you offer is immediately deducted from your pool.
You pour elemental knowledge into your ally's attacks, tripling the effectiveness of their strikes. This triples the power damage for the round. (Max 2 uses per player / per battle. Max 6 uses globally).
A barrier of arcane energy enfolds 3 allies of your choice for 2 rounds, protecting them from all damage.
You send a swirling storm of primordial chaos energy to smite your foe, dealing a high amount of damage. (Max 2 uses per Mage per battle)
You become a conduit for raw magic, sacrificing your life force in a cataclysmic arcane explosion that deals Xd20 damage to the boss (X = your level). Your HP and MP drop to zero and you cannot be revived for the duration of the current battle. All other living allies gain +5 Max MP and are restored to full MP. The party receives a 25% XP bonus for the battle, but you forfeit all rewards. (Max 1 use per battle, entire party)
Keeper of Life and Hope
Healers keep the party alive through the most brutal encounters. They restore hit points, resurrect fallen allies, and empower the group with divine buffs — the unsung heroes of every great victory.
You call upon the spirits of nature. Has a base 20% chance to work, plus 1% per level you have. On success, one incorrect option is revealed. On failure, the power fizzles.
You call upon the powers of life to soothe your party's wounds! Restore 2d6 + (Level) to 2 targets
You intertwine the light of the sun into the energies of up to 3 allied Mages, temporarily increasing each target's Max HP and current HP by your full level for the duration of the battle. (Max 1 use per Healer per battle)
You pierce the veil of reality and return an ally's spirit to their body.
You point your healing energy towards a single ally, restoring 3d8 + Caster level hit points to the target. Ally must have less than 50% health.
Channel the party's collective will. A vote is called to either empower the party with a damage buff, or do a large amount of damage to the boss directly. Empower = +2 Additional Damage per corrent question for the duration of the battle. Damage = 4d20 + the caster's level. The effect triggers instantly after the vote. (Max 1 use per Healer per battle)
Heals ALL active allies for 1d6 + 50% of your Level (rounded up) HP each. Excess healing is discarded.
You become a font of divine wrath, calling down a blazing column of holy light that deals Xd20 damage to the boss (X = your level) before your spirit departs the battlefield. Your HP and MP drop to zero and you cannot be revived for the duration of the current battle. All other living allies gain +5 Max HP and are restored to full HP. The party receives a 25% XP bonus for the battle. You forfeit all personal rewards. (Max 1 use per battle, entire party)
